400,000 UK patients with Type 1 diabetes at serious risk due to insulin shortages.
According to this report.."Britain is already contending with record numbers of medicines becoming hard or impossible to obtain, including those for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and epilepsy" but now there's a scarcity of Insulin meds due to global manufacturing shortages and some aren't expected to be available until next year.
According to one patient, who also happens to be an NHS doctor... "Type 1 diabetics fall ill and will die within a few days without insulin. I’m worried for fellow diabetics, not only to access the supply, to stay alive, but the stress and anxiety this causes” and switching to another drug can be very distressing as well, especially if it means coming off a pump and using an insulin pen instead.
Remember, in 2019, when Corbyn's Labour pledged to set up a publicly-owned company to make cheap versions of medicines for the NHS, but Starmer made sure that would never happen by insisting on running a divisive anti-Brexit election campaign?
